Biography

Noongar country encompasses the entire south-western corner of Western Australia, stretching from north of Jurien Bay, roughly east to north of Moora, and then southeast to the southern coast between Bremer Bay and Esperance. The Noongar people are the traditional custodians of this vast region, with evidence suggesting human habitation for at least 45,000 years. Noongar people speak the Noongar language, which is the official language of the Aboriginal people in the south-west of Western Australia.

Biography

Mohan-Ram brings over 30 years of strategic management, government and cross-sector experience to the post. Having worked across multiple transportation sectors, including bus, aviation, road, waste, furniture removal, warehouse and refrigerated transport, he has made supporting industry the cornerstone of his career. Varenya’s most recent role as National Business Relationship Manager at Team Super (formerly TWUSUPER Fund), saw him play corporate liaison for the largest transport and logistics companies contributing to the Fund. He has been a member of various industry committees and stood on the boards of organisations such as the Refrigerated Warehouse & Transport Association of Australia Ltd (RWTA), the Service Industry Training Advisory Council, Asthma Australia (Northern Territory), and the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA), of which he was Chairman (NT Group). Additionally, he was a National Executive Member of the Australian Labor Party between 2011 and 2013 and headed up the Northern Territory Branch as General Secretary.

Biography

Tony Hopkins is the Chief Executive Officer, Regional Australia Division of ComfortDelGro Corporation Australia (CDC), one of the country’s largest urban, school, and charter bus operators and part of the international ComfortDelGro group. A transport, tourism, and logistics expert and bus industry veteran of 40 years, Tony has delivered comprehensive passenger transport solutions for some of Australia’s most renowned bus brands including Greyhound and Buslink VIVO. He has served as a chair, president, vice president and committee member on the executive of various state and national industry associations for the past 14 years including the Bus Industry Confederation (BIC), Australian Public Transport Industry Association (APTIA), Queensland Bus Industry Council (QBIC) and the former National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) Taskforce. Tony is an active contributor to the community and wider industry, lobbying state, and federal governments to create improvements for with various bus operators across the country. Tony’s lifetime commitment to the bus industry was recognised in 2021, when he was presented with QBIC’s Outstanding Achievement Award. The same year, his division was honoured with the QBIC Environmental/Innovation Award, as well as a High Commendation in the 2021 NSCA Foundation/GIO National Safety Awards of Excellence.

Biography

Danny Green is the only boxer from Australia to win FOUR professional boxing world titles in three weight divisions. One of the highest profile athletes in the country, greens laconic, affable laid back nature outside the ring belies his fierce and intense demeanour inside the ropes, his devastating power and aggressive instincts have earned him the well known moniker ‘The Green Machine’. The last five years Green has dedicated himself to his self funded anti-violence movement called the Cowards Punch Campaign. Aimed at preventing the senseless and unnecessary attacks on helpless victims, his campaign has gained massive national exposure and his credibility and tireless efforts in this field has made him the medias ‘go-to’ man when reporting on serious incidents. He is committed to the campaign long term and it’s been said that the legacy he will leave from his efforts in the community will outweigh his achievements in the boxing ring.

Biography

Nicole Rosie is an experienced executive with over 20-years’ experience in Chief Executive and senior management roles across the public and private sector. Most recently, the Chief Executive of New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Nicole’s experience also includes 3 years as Chief Executive of Worksafe New Zealand (NZ National Health and Safety Regulator) and senior executive roles in Fonterra, KiwiRail/Toll NZ, Vector and Fletcher Challenge Forests. Over her five-year period in the NZTA role, NZ had significant changes in transport priorities with three government policy statements on transport (the governments 10 yr strategy documents) and significant pivots in transport priorities. NZTA’s role in leading planning, investment and delivery for New Zealand under the national land transport programme grew significantly with the programme under management increasing from around 11B over three years to 24B. NZTA also played a key role in managing the infrastructure impacts of COVID and in responding to NZ wettest year on record (2023), which significantly impacted transport and other infrastructure networks across the country. Transformation changes were also made in the regulatory, safety and digital functions of NZTA with modern platforms put in place to manage pricing, tolling, public transport and network management and utilisation. Through her period in the role NZ also saw improvements in transport safety and a reduction in national emissions transport emissions with NZTA leading the implementation of government transport decarbonisation initiatives such as the clean car scheme. Nicole has a Master of Public Health in Law and Public Health from Harvard University, which she attended as a NZ Fulbright scholar. A Master of Law from Auckland University jointly supervised by the medical and law schools and Law and Arts degrees from Otago University.
