Biography

Dean Moule is the National Technical Manager for the Bus Industry Confederation (BIC). Dean has over 37 years’ experience in the automotive industry, specifically specialising in buses. His manufacturing, service, engineering and product development experience stems from his time at Ansair (former bus bodybuilder), Mercedes-Benz Bus and Volvo Buses. Dean spent 11 years focusing on electromobility –­ hybrid and full electric – including developing training, chassis and body design, product introductions and specifications. During his tenure at Volvo Buses, he was the Director of Product and Electromobility, which involved the global launch of the BZL Electric City Bus in Australia and Southeast Asia. Dean previously assisted the Bus Industry Confederation between 2014-2020, liaising on new legislation and industry initiatives such as thermal safety protection

Biography

Cam has been the CEO of WA’s transport and logistics peak industry body, Western Roads Federation since Nov 2017. Graduating from Royal Military College Duntroon in 1984, Cam spent several postings as a Logistics Officer before attending the Royal Military College of Science in the UK. Following RMCS, he was posted to military research and development facilities in the UK, USA and Australia. Since leaving the Army, Cam has held senior executive roles in manufacturing, technology and logistics companies. Academically, in addition to a BA(Mil) Cam holds post-graduate qualifications in Logistics Management, Technology Management, and a conferred Masters in Blast Wave Predictive Modelling. In addition to WRF, Cam is a Trustee Director of a multi-billion-dollar industry super fund, is listed by Business News in WA’s most influential 500 people, an Editorial Advisor to WA Defence Review and is the Director of TraumaSim, a WA manufacturer exporting to 25 countries.

Jonathan has over 18 years of experience in the automotive aftermarket industry and has been instrumental in improving the quality and efficiency of automotive workshop operations. His career highlights include serving as Training and Development Manager at Aeroklas Asia Pacific Group and successfully owning and operating an independent automotive workshop. Jonathan holds diplomas in Leadership and Business Management. He is passionate about cultivating inclusive workplace cultures, championing ongoing education through Australia's VET system, and driving continuous improvement to support the automotive industry.

Biography

Melissa Cashman, Assistant Secretary of the Vehicle Safety Policy and Partnerships Branch at the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communication and the Arts, leads the team responsible for developing the Australian Design Rules, policy related to the Road Vehicle Standards legislation, and the management of the supporting ROVER IT system. Melissa has worked in regulation since the 1990’s; first as a NSW Police Officer serving in both in general duty and forensic roles. That work developed Melissa’s passion for transport safety, and for the last 12 years she has worked in policy and regulation roles in the Australian Public Service, primarily in the areas of aviation and road vehicle safety.

Biography

TIER IV is a Japanese start-up providing Level 4 autonomous driving solutions and platforms. Johnny has been involved in the deployment of various autonomous vehicle projects throughout the Asia Pacific region including robo-taxis with Japan Taxi, heavy cargo trucks in China and Taiwan, and mining vehicles and semi-trucks in Australia with Hitachi Construction Machinery, Fortesque Metals Group and Transurban.
