By completing and submitting the BIC Summit registration, delegates agree to the BIC event terms and conditions as outlined below.

COVID-19

The BIC are working to ensure a safe and successful summit for all delegates and staff. We are responsive to changing health advice as we navigate the COVID-19 landscape. If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, stay home, and get tested.

Hotel Realm have a COVID-19 Venue Safe Plan and will follow ACT Government guidelines.

Payments

Once payment is received, an email confirmation and a receipted invoice will be sent. Payments MUST be made in full to confirm your registration. Payments are accepted via Credit Card  (MasterCard and VISA) and EFT. Since February 2015, our payment service provider Centium Software, is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant. This means, your card holder data is protected to the highest possible levels, from data entry into our online registration sites, through to payment into the banks.

Substitutions and cancellations

Delegates may nominate an alternative person from their organisation to attend up to 24 hours prior to the start of the event, at no extra charge. Should substitution not be possible, cancellation charges apply as follows:

  • Cancellation requests received 90 days prior will receive a refund of 100% of the registration costs.
  • Cancellations received after 90 days but before 60 days prior, will receive a refund of 50% of the registration costs.
  • Cancellations received after 30 days but before 14 days prior, will receive a refund of 25% of the registration costs.
  • Cancellation requests received after 14 days prior will not be eligible for a refund

Requests to cancel registrations must be received in writing at events@bic.asn.au.

Access and mobility requirements

Delegates should advise of any special access requirements in writing to events@bic.asn.au.

Photography and filming

For promotional purposes, there may be a professional photographer and video production taking place during the event. Delegates who do not wish to be filmed or recorded should advise the organisers by email at events@bic.asn.au prior to the event to avoid your image being used in future promotional material.

Data protection and privacy

By submitting registration details, delegates agree to allow the BIC and companies associated with the event to contact them regarding their services. Delegates who do not wish to receive such communications please notify us at events@bic.asn.au.

The BIC collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information to assist us in performing our event functions and manage our staff. We comply with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act). You can view the BIC privacy policy on the website.

Limited contact details of registered delegates will be placed in a delegate directory and may be passed to partnering companies and to all attendees for them to see who is at the event for the purpose of networking and meetings. Delegates who do not wish to be included on this list should advise at the time of online registration or through email at events@bic.asn.au.

Websites and links

The summit and associated BIC websites may link to other websites, booking and networking tools provided for the convenience of the users. The contents of these websites are maintained by their owners, for which BIC takes no responsibility for, and may have their own policies and terms and conditions users are to read and adhere to. 

Program alterations - cancellation/postponement of event 

  1. The BIC reserves the right to make alterations to the program, venue and timings.
  2. In the unlikely event of the program being cancelled by the BIC, a full refund will be made. Liability will be limited to the amount of the fee paid by the delegate.
  3. In the unlikely event of the event being postponed or the dates being changed, the organisers shall not be liable for any expenditure, damage or loss incurred by the delegate.
  4. If by re-arrangement the event can take place at a different venue in the same city, the booking between the delegate and the BIC shall remain in force and will be subject to the cancellation schedule.

Insurance

It is the responsibility of the delegate to arrange appropriate insurance cover in connection with their attendance at the event. The BIC will not be held liable for any loss, liability or damage to personal property.

Code of conduct

⁠Delegates must:

  • treat everyone with respect, dignity, courtesy, sensitivity and ensure that they do not become involved in or encourage discrimination or harassment
  • respect the diversity of experiences, expertise and opinions within the event
  • act professionally, with discretion, confidentiality and sound judgement and
  • act with care and diligence in the course of the event

Speakers, presenters and panellists

Views expressed by speakers, presenters and/or panellists are their own. The BIC does not accept liability for advice given, or views expressed, by any speaker at the event or in any material provided to delegates.
