David Hensher, PhD, is Professor of Management and Founding Director of the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS). In January 2023, David was appointed a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia (OA). David has numerous Australian and International awards including a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia (FASSA), Recipient of the 2009 International Association of Travel Behaviour Research Lifetime Achievement Award, 2006 Engineers Australia Transport Medal the 2009 Bus NSW Outstanding Contribution to Industry Award and the 2019 John Shaw Medal which honours an industry champion who has made a lasting contribution to Australia's roads. In 2021 an annual prize was established and named in honour of David for best paper in transport demand modelling at the Australasian Transport Research Forum (ATRF). In January A Director of Volvo Educational and Research Foundation (VREF) Centre of Excellence in Bus Rapid Transit (2010 onwards), Board member of ITLS Africa, Emeritus Member of Singapore Land Transport Authority International Advisory Panel 2007-2010 (Chaired by Minister of Transport), Honorary Fellow Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) Academy, and Co-Founder of The International Conference in Competition and Ownership of Land Passenger Transport (the Thredbo Series http://www.thredbo-conference-series.org/), now in its 32nd year. He has published over 750 papers in the leading international transport and economics journals as well as 17 books and is Australia’s most cited transport academic. David has over 75,000 citations of his contributions in Google Scholar.

Beginning his career in finance, Michael brings more than 20 years’ experience as a director in investment and banking industries, with a focus on transit.

Nicholas Yap (Nick) is Chief Executive Officer of ComfortDelGro Corporation Australia (CDC). CDC is one of Australia’s leading transport providers, employing over 5,700 employees with over 12,000 vehicles operating across seven states and territories in Australia. CDC operates public transport across New South Wales, Victoria, the Northern Territory, Queensland, and the Australia Capital Territory, as well as non-emergency patient transport services (National Patient Transport). With the addition of A2B Australia in April 2024, CDC has become a leading Australian taxi network and a major payment solutions provider for the personal transport industry.
A passionate believer that communities deserve safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable transport solutions, Nick also knows that to deliver on this mission, he and his team must work closely with a variety of stakeholders including clients, staff and their representative bodies, elected representatives, community partners, industry associations, other transport operators, regulators and trusted suppliers.
Nick has been with the ComfortDelGro group since 1994 and he holds a Bachelor of Economic and Social Studies (Hons) from the University of Wales and completed the Executive Programme in Transportation Management from the Nanyang Technological University and Chartered Institute of Transport, Singapore.

Jay is the Chief Operating Officer for Keolis Downer Bus, with over 20 years’ experience in bus operations, driving and implementing operational improvements and efficiencies. He oversees the day-to-day operations of over 1300 buses across Australia, along with the first multi-modal contract in Australia which operates buses, trams, and ferries.
Prior to this role, Jay was the Chief Operating Officer for NZ Bus, where he introduced 70 Zero Emission Electric buses in Auckland and Wellington. He has previously worked with State Transit, Forest Coach Lines and ComfortDelGro in senior operational roles.
Jay is passionate about the bus industry and sees incredible opportunities to transform the way we deliver services, accelerate the energy transition, and provide more value for money to public transport authorities across Australia.
