As part of our corporate social responsibility we are committed and hold ourselves accountable through strong leadership and fostering a culture of responsibility and personal ownership in all areas of the 2024 Show.
For us, Corporate Responsibility includes Health, Safety and Environment; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Acknowledgment of Indigenous Peoples and Heritage.
We aim to:
- Select a socially and environmentally conscious venue that contributes using a Reconcillitaion Action Plan, is EarthCheck certified and committed to waste reduction.
- Engage suppliers and contractors who are equally committed to building a sustainable future through a balance of environmental, social, economic and cultural factors. Where possible, priority will be given to organisations who are Supply Nation registered
- Acknowledge the Brisbane Traditional Owners, elders past and present where appropriate including Welcome to Country and acknowledgements
- Donate excess catering to Emmanuel City Mission and merchandise to registered charitable organisations, community groups or local schools
- Source merchandise items that have an extended life (not a one-time use) are recyclable, made from sustainable and/or recycled materials.
- Collaborate with the Local Brisbane Rotary Club for event tasks and donation opportunities at the Show
- Minimise Show waste and the use of one-time paper/printing by going digital where ever possible.
